From his childhood experimenting with the legendary Super 8 camera, Joseph J Lawson has crafted his love of filmmaking into a lifelong profession in commercial television and independent film creating some truly iconic moments. These include 'Roughnecks: The Starship Trooper Chronicles' (with Foundation Imaging), 'Caprica' for Universal, 'Lord of the Rings: Return of the King' for Rhythm & Hues, all the way to his seven year tenure directing, and producing VFX for The Asylum studio's most infamous creations. Joe is now working with his son and together they run Lawson Digital Arts creating stunning effects in the world of independent film .Joe kindly took time out from his busy schedule to speak with Cine Bijou offering thoughts on his VFX journey, the evolution of his beloved industry and reflecting on its future with the emergence of AI.

Gabriela Staniszewska is a multi-award winning filmmaker from Bristol, UK. She works in horror, action and sci-fi, with a small local collective. Her work has won numerous awards at film festivals including action comedy 'Choose Your Weapon' which hit a triple bill at 2022 Fighting Spirit Film Festival taking home the gong for Best Film, Best British Film, and the Audience Choice.
